Reconstructed Dress

This was a skirt that I thought would look super cute as a dress! So I added sleeves, a flower, and a sash. The sash is completely removable and can be worn around the head or waste as desired. =D Pictures below! Tell me what you think!

This is the first item I will attempt to sell in my etsy here store. I'm nervous, dear blog-world!

Sketching

I love to sketch, sketch sketch. These are some old sketches from about a year ago I did in my classes at LU.

I need to pick up drawing again. I miss it ^___^. But, I did make a dress today, from an old skirt! Will post pictures tomorrow.

Shirt Redo!!

YAY! Shirt revamp!

My mom bought me this old blue shirt that I used to wear under my work shirts. I think she got it at goodwill, not sure. But, I appliquéd this pretty floral pattern onto it with a zigzag stitch and then added some bright yellow flounce at the top. It was really simple to do, but for me was hard! (Since I'm new of course) butttt I finally have something I've made that I can wear! It's a first of hopefully lots more to come...

Pictures of course!

Abstract Watercolors

So, just doodles of watercolors today. Not the best of pictures, perhaps I am getting lazy?

Flower watercolor

Yesterday I water-colored a flower before going over to cook for my boyfriend and help him pack for his move tomorrow! I couldn't get a good picture of it with the lighting, sorry!

Wall Art

I've lived in my current efficiency apartment for almost an entire year, and yet my walls are still white, white, white. I am moving into a new two bedroom place with my best friend in less then two weeks and decided to make some wall art for my bedroom. I wanted to mix photos of my boyfriend and I and some scripture verses and other memorabilia. I found four square 12x12 cork bored at Walmart for 5$ and in 30 minutes and 1 yard of fabric later, came up with these:

Sewing again

So I've been sewing again. I haven't had time to do anything creative in so long because of work...

It was so relaxing to sew! And frustrating too, because I am still learning.  Here is what I've dredged up.

The shirt is a men's shirt, purchased from goodwill for 4 dollars. I tailored it into a children's dress. This was my first time making a collar and "arm holes". It was fun and I learned a lot!
