Bun Tutorial

1) Take a small section of hair near your part, and begin a three-strand braid going under (dutch style)
2) Add pieces (like a french braid) until you reach the bottom of your ear
3) Braid dutch style and tie off with a hair elastic
4) Make a mid pony with the rest of you hair
5) Pull the pony though halfway making a bun
6) Take the braid and pin around the pony bun
7) Wear and enjoy!

Photoshoot

I love green. I love trees. Ever since I was a little girl, I've been fascinated with trees and all things green. I used to watch my mom transplant leafy things from pot to pot to scatter all around the house. I'd watch, and be fascinated.

I've been practicing at home a bit. Here is my most recent attempt :)
I love trees. And mixing colors.
Whats your favorite thing to draw/paint?

Different Braids

For the longest while I didn't know that there were different ways to do a three-strand braid! And each way highlights the hair in a various manner.

So here are three diverse ways to three-strand braid.

Dutch Braid: The dutch braid is formed by braiding under. It has a "raised" sort of effect on the hair.
French Braid: Opposite of the dutch braid, with all the strands being woven over.
Half French/ Dutch braid. One strand is braided under, and the other over. Gives hair a twisted look. This is it done loosely:
 And this I did tightly:
These are the most common three-strand braids! I hope this is helpful!

Knit Bow Ring Tutorial

I saw an awesome tutorial for knit bow rings over at One Sheepish Girl but I didn't like how "long" her rings were! They seemed a bit wide for me! I envisioned plump little bow rings :)

So I made some of my own. I completed the process differently then One Sheepish Girl, but of course have to give credit to her for the idea :)
----
These cute bow rings are delightfully easy to make! All you need is a ring (I used adjustable ones) some yarn, and of course, knitting needles.

I am using size 6 needles and corresponding yarn.
Step One: Cast on 5 stitches
Step Two: Knit all front rows and purl all back rows.
The pattern looks like this:
row 1: k all
row 2: p all
row 3: k all
row 4: p all
(and continue this pattern)
Step Three:  You want to knit until it gets this long (about 2.5 inches)
Then bind off.
Step Four: Fold in half and sew up the seam.
Step Five: Lay the seam to the back, and use the tail to wrap around the middle, forming a bow.
Cut off any excess, and tuck the ends under, using the yarn needle
Step Six: Now you have adorable cute little knitted bows!
Use them to adorn various things! I put mine on rings. And fabric cuffs!
If you don't want to make one, these cute knit bow rings are for sale in my shop, two for 12$!

Market Bag

Today I made this market bag!
I love it. Its nice, roomy, comfy, and has a cross-body strap!
I'm very proud of it. I love the simple design and it has two huge, deep pockets!
I need a large bag for toting things around! For some reason, I couldn't make it show up well in the pictures!

Orange Day

Lovely day at the park, yes?
I love days like this.

Washcloth

I knitted my first washcloth this week! I gave it to my lovely sister for her mothers day gift.
If anyone is interested in making it; here is the pattern!

K: Knit
P: Pearl

Cast on 38 stitches. I am using size 6 needles and yarn to match the needle size. I recommend 100% cotton yarn if you are going to be using this on your face or on dishes. It holds together much better and survives washing!

Row 1-3: K all

----
Row 4: K all
Row 5: K3, P to end, K3
Row 6: K3 (P2 K1) 10x P2 K3
Row 7: K3 (K2 P1) 10X K5
----

Repeat rows 4-7 to form the pattern. I repeated it 8 times, but it is up to you.

to end, K4 rows, and bind off :)

Thats it! Hope you like it.

The Art of Frisbee

Or, as I like to call it: how to play Frisbee, awkwardly :)
Step one: make a grand throw.
 Step two: eye contact?
Or if all else fails...you could just throw the frisbee at the person taking your photo......

Bow Rings

These adorable little bow rings are knitted and glued on adjustable bands! I love them.
I'll be making a tutorial soon. I know there are a few out there but I do it a bit differently, so I'd love to share my way.
These will soon be in the shop!
