For Beth

So my good friend Beth's birthday was last week! She is so amazing and wonderful so I made her this cup! I also sent her two articles of clothing. I hope she loves them :)

Beth is a photographer and fashionista in MD and VA. Go wish her a (belated) happy birthday!

Love

I really love polymer clay. Seriously, I never knew something like this existed. Not only is it super malleable, it doesn't make a mess like "normal" clay. And the things you can make with it! I designed, baked, and created this Love necklace in about 30 minutes from start to finish. I adore it.

Haircut

I went to get my hair layered earlier this week! It had all grown out to just one layer, besides a few fly away pieces that I tried to cut myself.

Hmm, so I loveee my new hair! It's lighter, curlier, and much more manageable. Later on this week I am going to re-dye it with henna, and post a henna hair tutorial for you guys. What other types of tutorials are you interested in seeing?

Bleach Dye

I've never tried reverse dying before, but when I found this navy dress at Goodwill I knew it needed a little something extra.

What I didn't realize is that the dress was made out of several different types of fabric that all lightened at different rates. I think this added even more depth to my dress, but if I could do it again I would try to dye each section separately.

I absolutely can't wait to wear it!

Totoro Cup

I've been having cup envy problems over the amazing Totoro mugs on etsy...

But with my tiny budget I could never justify spending 40$ on a cup, even if it does have one of my favorite movie characters on it! 

DIY to the rescue! I found this tutorial on Pinterest and decided to give it a whir. 

Basically you can draw on a cup with sharpies and bake it in your oven, and the design sticks (more or less).

Thus my Totoro was born. I got the mug for 50 cents at Goodwill but it was originally from Ikea! 

What would you draw? I have several more ideas in mind...this would also make an amazing birthday present! 

Necklace

I made my first necklace today! The beads I created from molding clay and fired in my oven. I decided to wear it swimming this afternoon with my new crochet top!

Shop Update

I've been quite obsessed with green lately. Half my closet has turned into grassy hues...

When I saw this white shirt in my local thrift store, I couldn't stop myself from nabbing it and tying out some more tie dye!

Knitting-Holder

I made this wonderful knitting needle holder for my friend Gwen. It was super easy to make, but I did mess up a few times. I think thats okay because it was my first try!

Hippo!

My best friend Gwen and I did an impromptu art exchange! She made me this adorable hippo.

How is everyone enjoying their summer? I find that even through I am not working, I still have to make time and push myself to get things done. How abstract. I really must be lazier then I thought.
