Since I've gotten married (feeding a man now!) I've noticed my weekly food budget has drastically increased. Food already was SO expensive when I was on my own (even through I really eat *nothing* compared to what my husband consumes). I'm very glad my sexy beast of a husband helps out in the purchasing department now, or I would be flat broke. And probably in debt.
I noticed once I began bargain shopping that food prices at our three main stores vary slightly. I keep seeing so many different $$ amounts out there when I shop, from Krogers, to Food Lion, to Walmart. And even those prices within the specific store increase and decrease weekly or monthly!
Because
I wanted to be a good homemaker my husband asked me for budgeting purposes to keep track of what I pay for food I started saving receipts. But then I noticed something. Sometimes the price of the item differs week-to-week! So on top of watching
my our money disappear at the grocery, I also wanted to watch the fluctuation of the price of food inside the store. Therefore I took a few pictures to help remind me.
I shop mainly at Food Lion and Krogers. Both of these are right down the street from where I live. I wanted to be able to compare food prices monthly and also yearly, so in December of 2013 I can see how much they have really changed in my area since 2012.
I'd love to link up with you ladies! To participate, do a blog post highlighting one or more of the foods I have listed here. I will be updating every Thursday and I would love to know how things differ world-wide! For example, what is your gas price right now? For my area in VA, gas is 3.09/gal for regular. Next week I will be comparing and contrasting the prices to see if anything has changed. I challenge you to do the same!
Please link one (or more) of the following foods in your post. You can link others also, but try to use one of these so I have something to compare with!
- Potatoes
- Bread
- Bagels
- Milk
- Bacon
- Cheese
- Yogurt
- Gas

Your food really is a little pricey! I just bought milk this week for $2.50 and organic (but not greek) yogurt for .60 cents. But our gas here is more expensive. Last I saw, it was 3.28 a gallon.
I wish I had a post about one of these items to share and link up but I will comment anyway :)
I hope you are having a lovely week my dear and thank you so much for linking up to last week's Aloha Friday Blog Hop.
If you have time, we'd love to have you come back and link up to the Aloha Friday Blog Hop if you haven't already!
Aloha,
