I bought these lovely shoes on sale at a Ross Dress for Less. I love them, but I thought they needed a bit of a pick-me-up in the way of color! So, out came the paints and brushes to work some shoe magic!
My favorite color this year seems to be teal. I keep painting everything teal! But I also wanted to put in some gold, as well!
What do you think? Did I do them justice? I'm in love and I've been wearing them all week, since the weather has finally decided to cooperate with the calender season.
In other news, one of my friends in my bible study is pregnant. I'm very happy for her, but I am also sad, because she was the only married lady (besides myself, obviously) who came to bible study and didn't have any children. Besides myself, there are two unmarried college-aged ladies without kids who come. Everyone else has at least one munchkin and many have a munchkin on the way as well as two or three running around..
I feel like I am some sort of rare creature, almost thirty and not a baby in sight. But oh well, there is always something to paint or knit...
But I still wish there was someone relatable in my demographic in my bible study. When you have kids you can't really hang out at the drop of a hat, or make non-kid plans very often. Can anyone else, well, relate?

:) Teal is a very pretty color! I've painted my shoes before! I still seem to be in the age demographic where no one around my age (and a good many people who are older) aren't married yet. The Bible study we go to is a college Bible study...and none of the friends that either Angel or I graduated college with are married yet...I'm pretty much convinced my friends will always be in different life stages than I am and I am okay with that (My own husband is nearly 30!). I do have 1 friend from high school who is married, and he has a daughter...but he's 3 years older than me and his wife is older than he is, so not exactly my age. But probably my best friend in the whole world is my 16 year old sister who's still in high school. I think the best people to actually hang out with are single guys who don't have a lot of extra commitments because they have more time and probably don't like to cook for themselves so they'll always come over for a meal--the friends Angel and I see the most often are college buddies who have yet to find girlfriends, but I imagine when they do we won't see them so much anymore...it gets a little funny-looking sometimes, one summer I remember having a sunset picnic outdoors in our yard with me, Angel, and 4 single guys that we know. Maybe it's an odd group...
My husband & I are in the same place, its so hard. I'm thrilled I came acorss your blog, because I'm deeply considering becoming a stay at home wife. My husbands word schedule is pretty crazy, we sometimes go a couple weeks only seeing eachother crossing paths out the door. We're the last of our friends without kids, feeling pretty lost lately. Trying to listen close to what God's plan is. Just know you're not alone, I'm almost 30, no kids and would love to be a stay at home wife!
Don't feel too bad! It's hard, though, when your immediate surroundings seem to be child-filled. I'm almost 31 and my husband is 28, and we haven't had any kids yet...my brother in law and his wife are 32 and 34 years old and they don't have kids yet either. So, there's 4 people your age and older who don't have kids yet. I know that doesn't really help since we don't live around each other, but I personally find it helpful to know there are others my age out there who don't have any kids (or realistically like 3 or 4 or 5 kids)! :)
It's nice to know others are going through the same thing :) do you have a blog? HUGS and thank you for commenting!
I love being a stay at home wife! I hope God gives you peace about your decision, whatever choice you make and that God blesses you :)
Totally understand the only seeing each other at really random times thing.
I will be praying for you! Hugs!
I don't currently write in a blog...I kinda stopped a few months ago and haven't had a desire to pick it back up again! HUGS to you too!! :)
I completely understand! I know pretty much no other married couple without kids. And the married couples with kids we've met only want to hang out with couples with kids. It seems like a constant struggle sometimes and something James and I talk about a lot. I wish you guys lived closer!
You did a great job! The teal is perfect for those shoes.
