I started this hat around the time I found out I was expecting, and hoping for a girl. Now I'm having a boy, and this hat will have to be saved for a friend or for my next (don't want to think about that right now) baby. I love the cute bobbles and the adorable pink scallops!
This hat was based on another baby hat I made for a friend. I don't think I'll be making any more hats, baby or otherwise, out of fingering weight yarn! That took forever.
I'm trying to finish up all my WIP's before my baby comes...only 6 more WIP's to go. I'm trying not to start any more projects either...wish me luck!

WOW that hat is super cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck with the projects! PS Just realized I ought to subscribe since I keep up regularly with your blog- duh! :)
Actually, that is quite an impressive hat!
Also, I don't think there would be anything wrong with your son wearing it (and I'm not a fan of pink on guys). :)
thanks! It was fun to make (mostly) it just took a LONG time :P do you have a blog so I can follow back? :)
heheh, maybe I will! I always forget that gender isn't stuck in one color anymore :P I wonder if my kid will like hats? I did (according to my mom) but my sister would cry and thrash whenever she tried to put a hat on her. hhahaa
Awww, that is so cute! And really neatly-made.
